A Thermoplasmataceae a Thermoplasmatales rendbe tartozó Archaea család. Az archeák – ősbaktériumok – egysejtű, sejtmag nélküli prokarióta szervezetek.[1] A Thermoplasmata osztályba tartozik, melynek tagjai savas és magas hőmérsékletű környezetben növekednek.
